| NetOn Power took part in the 11th Energy Forum (XI Foro Energía), organised by elEconomista.es in Madrid under the theme “Energy, a key element for industrialisation”. Our CEO, Alberto Martín, sat on the panel dedicated to consumers, alongside representatives of Atlantic Copper, Fortia Energía, Tresca Ingeniería, Deloitte, Ferroglobe and Sonnedix. The event highlighted a concern shared across the industrial sector: the high cost of energy bills is undermining the competitiveness of Spanish and European industry, with a consequent risk of plant closures, relocations and lost investment. The speakers agreed that the advantage offered by renewable generation in Spain is not yet fully passed on to the final price paid by industrial consumers, and identified the cost of energy commodities, electricity system costs and charges arising from public policies as the main drivers of this gap. Against this backdrop, Alberto Martín advocated giving factories direct access to renewable generation as an effective way to reduce network charges and tolls, limit exposure to market volatility and secure additional energy at sites where the grid cannot meet new demand. He also emphasised Spain’s prominent role in the latest European auction for industrial heat decarbonisation funding, in which it secured 24 of the 65 projects awarded, many of them linked to self-consumption. NetOn Power has contributed to the success of three of these initiatives through on-site PPA self-consumption plants that will power industrial heat solutions. The panel also addressed the role of energy storage and the hybridisation of renewable plants with batteries as tools to stabilise prices, reduce system costs and strengthen energy sovereignty. At NetOn Power, we reaffirm our commitment to the competitiveness and decarbonisation of industry through comprehensive self-consumption solutions under a local PPA model — rooftop, ground-mounted, with storage or through industrial energy communities — that give our clients access to renewable energy at a stable and competitive price, with no upfront investment. An approach grounded in our values: sustainability, integrity, excellence, closeness and value creation.
